Imposter Syndrome
A Reflection on the Anxieties that come with Creativity
Imposter Syndrome
- Imposter Syndrome: "Anxiety or self-doubt that results from persistently undervaluing one’s competence and active role in achieving success, while falsely attributing one's accomplishments to luck or other external forces"
- I sometimes experience this myself when I'm creating or even in other parts of my life like my education and my work. The other day I was finding it extremely difficult to find motivation while writing and suddenly I had the idea to channel those feelings into a new project. This is that project, and maybe you can relate to these feelings. This may be the most "honest" script that I've written in terms of looking into myself and understanding my own strengths and faults. I think many of us may have our own "imposters" and it's important to acknowledge our own talent and hard work in order to overcome them.
